Getting Your License Back

If your Illinois driver's license has been revoked due to a DUI, you'll need to go through the Secretary of State's administrative hearing process to get it back. A critical part of that process is having a professional substance abuse evaluation conducted by a licensed provider.

That's where we come in. With 15 years of experience providing evaluations for Secretary of State hearings, we know exactly what documentation is required and how to present it properly.

Formal vs. Informal Hearings

Informal Hearings

Required if your driving privileges have been suspended or revoked for an offense not involving a fatality or for a single DUI disposition. Held on a walk-in basis. We provide the evaluation and documentation you need for your hearing.

Formal Hearings

Required if your privileges have been suspended or revoked for an offense(s) involving a fatality or great bodily harm or multiple DUI dispositions. A formal hearing must be requested in writing, along with a $50 filing fee. We provide the evaluation and all documentation needed to support your case.

The Hearing Process

The Secretary of State needs to see that you've addressed the issues that led to your DUI and that you're a responsible candidate for license reinstatement. Here's what that typically involves:

  1. Get your driving record β€” A court-purpose driving abstract from the Secretary of State
  2. Complete a professional evaluation β€” From a licensed DBHR provider (that's us)
  3. Complete any required treatment β€” Based on your evaluation results
  4. Gather support documentation β€” Support system letters, proof of sobriety, etc.
  5. Submit your packet or attend your hearing β€” With all documentation in order

We guide you through the evaluation and documentation steps so you know exactly what you need and can approach your hearing with confidence.
